Tool & Die Maker, Entry, 2nd Shift
Constructs and repairs dies, drill fixtures, compression molds, injection molds, machines, and all other associated parts to maintain or build tooling to accomodate production requirements. Will assist Manufacturing and Maintenance in troubleshooting and resolving tooling issues. Will study drawings to plan sequence of necessary operations to manufacturing tools.
Job Requirements/Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of trade school in machine shop. Apprenticeship in a machine shop including prior experience in drafting, blueprint reading, metallurgy, CAD/CNC, and computer experience is preferred. Must have experience and/or knowledge to design and build tooling as needed. Must have good communication skills, good basic mathematical skills, and good analytical abilities. Must have good teamwork skills, meet quality requirements, be flexible, and be able to meet and maintain performance standards. Must have workable knowledge of micrometers, dial calipers, tape measures, dial indicators, mills, lathes, heat treatment procedures, drill presses, grinders, multiple hand tools, and any other shop equipment deemed necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a driving background check. Must be able to work overtime as assigned. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level, to occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds, and to bend, stoop and/or climb. Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours and be able to use micrometers, dial calipers, tape measures, dial indicators, mills, lathes, heat treatment procedures, drill presses, grinders, multiple hand tools, and any other shop equipment deemed necessary.
