Virco Helps Averitt Express Create Engaging Employee Spaces

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Averitt Express maintains a strong focus on its people. As a leading provider of freight transportation and supply chain management, they are committed to providing the best service to their customers and developing the full potential of their associates. As they looked toward the future, they had a goal to create positive work environments for all their employees which included safe, secure driver support centers that felt like home and represented Averitt’s values. As part of this plan, Averitt Express decided to refresh their 100+ facilities across 21 states and turned to Virco for their furniture solutions.

VIRCO SOLUTION

The Virco Team met with Averitt Express to define their vision and furniture needs. The current furniture across their break rooms and offices had become dated and worn over the years. Averitt Express wanted new furniture that was not only visually appealing but could also support day-to-day use in high-traffic areas and easily be tailored to support their 100+ facilities. The Virco team got to work designing solutions to meet their needs.

For the office spaces, the original cubicles were covered in fabric, which easily wore down and became outdated over the years. The Averitt Team wanted a solution that was easy to maintain and would cut down on wear and tear. The Virco team designed custom cubicle solutions with hard sides, which can be easily cleaned. Each cubicle includes higher panels for privacy and overhead storage solutions. The reception desk was customized with lower panels to accommodate a transactional counter window.

Break rooms in the driver support center were designed to include various seating arrangements making the space comfortable and inviting. Lunada Series cafe-style tables with Sure Edge banding were paired with Sage Series Chairs and Stools for employees to meet, get some work done or enjoy a meal. Colors were selected to match Averitt Express’ signature brand color creating a familiar and coordinated place to rest and recharge.
